Dane DaHaan for Prada SS14

An intriguing little story popped up on the Vogue email newsletter today: 27 year old actor Dane DeHaan is the new face for Prada's SS14 menswear campaign.

You may recognise him from the brilliant superpower film Chronicle, western Lawless, the controversial Kill Your Darlings or as Gosling's offspring in the emotional The Place Beyond The Pines, but now he has Prada model to add to his already fairly excellent career. I think Dane is one of those actors that you always recognise his face, but can't really place him, and are surprised when you realised how much he has been in! I've always thought he was interestingly beautiful, and he looks great in Prada's gorgeous new collection, which I already raved about in an earlier blog post here.

I just love those floral sweatshirts! A very cool new campaign. Roll on SS14!

Fashion Week Favourites: Burberry Prorsum is Pastel Perfect

As you may have gathered, Fashion Week is upon us. New York has recently finished and London started, and my Instagram has been close to implosion with the amount of runway and front row pictures, not to mention backstage beauty shots. There's nothing like the thrill of the new, and even though autumn has just started, these shows are good enough to get you excited for spring again!

So I thought I'd do a couple of posts on my favourite SS14 shows, and first up is Burberry Prorsum. You might find it interesting (then again you might not...) to know that Burberry's AW12 collection was actually my first proper blog post! Check it out here.

There was everything you'd expect from a Burberry show; Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell and Jourdan Dunn on the catwalk, a front row full of British icons and the latest twist on the classic trench coat. With a colour palette of dreamy pastels and muted greys/nudes, delicate lace teamed with sheer panels, art deco embellishment and relaxed but ladylike shapes, this is Burberry at its most feminine, plus a hint of androgyny from boxy coats and laid-back knitwear. Topping it off with a rainfall of petals in the finale? Just, beautiful.

Here's some of my favourite looks from the show:

I'll be sitting next to Sienna Miller in that front row one day!!

All images from the Vogue website, check out the full show and their report here.

Prada SS14: Mens & Womenswear

We all know that fashion moves along at a breakneck speed, but it does still baffle me a little that we are seeing next years Spring/Summer collections already when we're still waiting for sunshine in 2013! How can designers dangle these amazing clothes in front of us then expect us to wait a year?! Not that I can afford them anyway, obviously.

One of the SS14 collections that caught my eye was the legend that is PRADA. I'll be honest, I'm not always the biggest fan of Miuccia's creations; sometimes they are i n c r e d i b l e (AW12's geometric suits, for example?), but other times, I think she pushes ugly-pretty to the extreme of just, well, ugly

This one, however, is right on the money. It's a summer collection, but I like the mix of bright and autumny colours, as well as the elements of knitwear and layering that make it not too seasonally specific (which is a good job with weather like ours!). The leafy florals are kinda tropical yet vintage-looking, and the mixing of prints and use of panelling really modernises the whole look. Also, I am not against wearing mens clothing, and those sweatshirts with printed sleeves are my favourite pieces! Flat shoes are always a thumbs up in my eyes too. Basically, I'm in love.

Here's some shots of the good stuff!
(Warning: a fair few pictures coming your way ha! All pictures from Vogue website, here)
